The story really starts in 1995 when three people unexpectedly met as co-workers in a downtown San Diego restaurant. Some five years later, Salvatore, Antonino and Daniela decided to partner up in the then sleepy town of Encinitas, to bring to the beach town locals the true flare of authentic Italian cuisine. In June of the millennium the doors of this quaint road side trattoria flung open to the flocks of hungry neighbors and seasonal tourists alike. Thirteen years later the dining room is still singing with happy guests, cheery wine a flow, strands of spaghetti being slurped and a warm Italian kitchen that stirs the small town with the intoxicating aromas of garlic and tomatoes and basil.
Truly a “mom & pop” operation, the three partners kept the integrity of their Mama’s marinara sauce and bread recipes, as well as the gnocchi, lasagne and ravioli made by hand daily. Not to mention, a well balanced wine list with a strong suit in Italian and California Coastal, a constant masterpiece in the making. Our dedication is to our craft and to you, as our guest.
