OUR STORY

The story of our restaurant begins not in a kitchen, but in a downtown San Diego in 1995. It was there that Salvatore, Antonino, and Daniela met as co-workers—three strangers brought together by a shared love of food, hospitality, and their Italian roots.

Five years later, that chance meeting turned into a partnership. The trio set their sights on Encinitas, a sleepy coastal town ready for a taste of authentic Italian cuisine. In June 2000, they opened the doors to a quaint roadside trattoria—and immediately won the hearts (and appetites) of locals and travelers alike.

From the beginning, the dining room filled with the sounds of laughter, clinking glasses, and the occasional joyful slurp of  pasta. Twenty five years later, not much has changed—except maybe the wine list (it's only gotten better).

At the heart of it all? A commitment to family recipes and honest, soul-warming food. From Mama's marinara and house-baked bread to fresh gnocchi, lasagna, and ravioli made daily, everything that comes out of our kitchen is a labor of love.

Our wine list? A carefully curated selection of Italian, California Coastal and gems from around the world—each bottle chosen to complement the dishes and enhance your experience.

What started as a dream between three friends has become a place where guests become family, meals turn into memories, and the warmth of Italian hospitality lives on every plate.
